Directions:
The Tupelo Gum Swamp is located east of the 3-way stop after coming
over the bridge onto the island. From the stop sign, take a left to
head east on Bienville. Take a right on Iberville. A left on Infanta
will dead end at the gum swamp.
There are other places where the swamp
can be entered on Iberville and Hernando Streets. The map below shows
the location of the gum swamp and which roads can be used to access it.
Tupelo Gum Swamp Birding areas:
As of now, I am still learning for myself about the birding in the
Tupelo Gum Swamp. I know that I saw several species of woodpecker as soon
as I stepped out of my car and began to enter the swamp.
I welcome information that you may have about this birding area.
